Advantages/Disadvantages for Business

Seymour Chamber of Commerce Forum: Seymour Incorporation: Advantages/Disadvantages for Business
By Pete Walburg on Monday, April 28, 2003 - 11:38 am:

It seems to me that the a no-growth philosophy is bad for business. At the same time, unrestricted growth without zoning could result in a poor living environment, the loss of higher income families and proliferation of undesirable facilities all of which would be bad for business. If we could get some zoning restrictions without incorporating the Seymour area, growth might be managed. If we can't, we may have to incorporate. In any case, the business community should have a major say in how zoning or incorporation should be structured.
