2024 Banquet & Membership Meeting
To say our 21st Annual Banquet and Membership meeting was one for the record books would be an understatement.
A full room of businesses and leaders of the community turned out to hear our guest Hallerin Hilton Hill, speak on how important it is to have that “special sauce” for your business to thrive, and the importance of love within our business and community to be successful.
Hallerin also did the honors of presenting our Person of the Year award to the family and in honor of one of our communities biggest supporters, Dave Foulk. Dave was the epitome of serving and giving back and truly loving the community in which he lived.
Our Teacher of the Year was awarded to Mrs. Amanda Atchley, better known to her students as Mrs. A (Atchley) which could also be known as AWESOME as many of her students think of her as.
She spoke of how much she loves her school, her students, and her community as well. And humbly accepted the award not for the recognition but for the importance and her advocacy of speaking up for all teachers that influence and impact our children every day in the classroom.
Each year the Chamber Board President also awards a Presidents Choice of someone within the chamber and community that exemplifies the sole purpose of the Chamber, its core values and mission, and goes above and beyond just being a member and attending meetings.
This was awarded to member Chris Kirby, of Smoky Mountain Health and Hospice for his outstanding contributions to many different organizations within our county and having a servants heart for our community.
And lastly our board was voted to remain as President, Drew Kitts, Vice President, Heidi Irwin Householder, Treasurer, Melissa Ownby, Secretary, Teresa Luttrell, Membership & Social Media, Kim Brown, and Awards &Recognition, Rebekah Hill.
Special Thank You to Johnson University for serving a wonderful dinner and always being so gracious to allow us to use their campus every year.
Thank you for all who joined us in this special and inspiring banquet. The Seymour Area Chamber of Commerce truly loves our members, community and the people who serve and work to make this a great place to live and work.
