31st Annual Seymour Community Christmas Parade
Light is meant to be seen by those in the darkness.
It has no value if covered up and hidden. And giving to those in need is a central principle of Jesus’ teachings, reflecting his deep compassion and love for humanity.
This year’s theme, “Light The Way, A Season of Service” highlights the best part of our community, which is how much we strive to give back to those in need.
The very purpose of our community parade is to uplift those who may be experiencing hardship. And when thinking of a Grand Marshal that demonstrates the term “serving” within our community, two came to mind.
So…why not have 2 Grand Marshals!
Doug-Heather Daniel , Executive Director at CROSS Food Ministry, which provides food and utility assistance and real needs within our tri-county community.
Paul Danis, Founder, and wife Terri Newman Danis, Executive Director of LIVE-IT Ministries, is an organization that brings people together through community to meet the needs of those who are socially, physically, spiritually or emotionally isolated and alone.
These individuals serve within these organizations as a reflection of Jesus’ emphasis on helping others. They actively seek ways to make a positive impact on the needs within our community, with a strong sense of purpose and as a likeness of Jesus’ call to love one another.
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven – Matthew 5:16
